I’ve never been to Disneyland, but that is going to change this year. I recently finalized reservations for a 7-day / 6-night trip to LA with 5-day Disney passes.

I figure… the only thing better than a family trip to Disneyland… is a deeply discounted family trip to Disneyland.

This is how we are planning a “Once in a Lifetime” trip for 2 adults and 2 children for less than $100/day, including meals.

This series is all about helping new travel hackers take advantage of the benefits offered by airlines, hotels, and credit cards in order to travel more for pennies on the dollar. To those unfamiliar with award travel, there is often a great deal of skepticism–and rightfully so, in many cases. Two of the biggest common concerns are worries about their credit score plummeting and the cost of credit card annual fees.

In last week’s article, I gave a high-level view of award travel by introducing terminology, outlining basic earning and redemption strategies, and, hopefully, enticing you to give this travel hacking thing a shot yourself. 

That post included a lot of information in a small number of words, so over the next few weeks I’ll be circling back to unpack various topics to explain them in more detail to give a deeper understanding of how to best use miles and points for luxury travel. I’ve also made note of the ideas and suggestions mentioned in the comments which I will weave into future posts.
