Food, Cameras, Love. And Food

My wife Winnie has 3 loves: food, photography, and me.  I’m fairly certain that is a prioritized list.  If we are ever headed towards the lifeboat of a future Titanic, there either better be extra room for her camera and cookbooks or I better be a great swimmer.  I’ve been swimming daily for the past month, just in case

The Old Man and the Sea

Zicatela Beach, Puerto Escondido, Mexico

I was excited for our surf lesson this morning, waking early in anticipation.  The heat of the day was still a few hours off, and yet there was not a cloud in the sky.  I had fond memories of my first attempt at surfing several years ago in Hawaii, and now I get to experience one of the best breaks in the world!  Winnie was a little hesitant, unsure if she was going to join in as of yet

Mango Madness

Fresh from the tree

Fresh from the tree

The world is a beautiful place, full of a natural abundance.  Mango trees are everywhere in Puerto Escondido, and are laden with fruit on the edge of ripeness. We are fast approaching the peak of mango madness season, when mangos will literally rain from the sky.  We’ve been walking down the street minding our own business when a fresh mango plopped down to the ground in front of us, just begging to be carried home.

No Go Curry Cracker

Too bad, so sad

Too bad, so sad

Everything eventually comes to an end. Such is the case with our world travels

After 6 months of funemployment and a few months of exploring foreign lands, we couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing from our lives.

Without the sense of purpose and the connection to a community that comes with a job, we felt as if we were just so much flotsam set adrift

In order to fill this hole in our hearts, we have decided to return to the United States and find work in our old careers. We are already planning a few shopping trips in order to reacquire home furnishings and clothing, and have started to research the latest models of cars. Wearing the latest fashions while cruising in a sweet ride will do a lot to help us feel complete.

At least we gave it a try… We will always know that we lived our dream, even if just for awhile.

Thank you all for your love and support

Jeremy and Winnie, No Go Curry Cracker
